Notes: This is how I wanted the despair arc to go. Hopefully my version will make you Komahina fans feel a little better!

Ｓｔｏｒｙ:
Hinata first meets Komaeda by the school’s park and onward develops some feelings during their friendship the more they spend time together. Whilst Komaeda is an elite and he is not, he also develops feelings of unworthiness, especially when Komaeda goes on to his speeches and love for hope for the talented. He feels more and more unworthy for him that at some point he takes out his anger on Komaeda himself. Hinata eventually drowns in the darkness of his own mind and he himself dreams to see the light of hope to pull him out of this darkness.

There is nothing that Hinata can and will do, except bury his love for Komaeda to become what Komaeda really wants, become his emblem of hope that he loves so much. Thus, he agrees upon the terms of the Kamukura experiment.

The experiment is a success and Hinata becomes Izuru who gains the gift of all talents but with a price. Upon learning of this experiment, Komaeda sneaks into his private room in hopes to meet Hinata, who has received all the beautiful talents only to be shocked by the fact he isn’t speaking to Hinata anymore. This realization alone sends Komaeda into dismay as he yearns for the old Hinata.

After Junko’s intervention and the breaking out of the tragedy, Izuru watches his alter ego’s beloved Komaeda fall into despair and an inner feeling nudges at his heart, a feeling Izuru cannot clearly explain.

With everything said and done after the events of the second mutual game, Hinata revives whilst Izuru lives within his body. Hinata is full of regret and remorse, but with determination as he gazes down on Komaeda’s lifeless face, he swears on reviving all of his classmates from their comatose state, and bring back Komaeda at all cost.
